24th October, news - Recently, Clippers star Harden gave an interview to reporter Shams.
Shams: When you look at this team now, I mean, there are a lot of young players on this team, and you have to be their leader. When you think back to when you first joined the Rockets, you were an absolute superstar. How much do you think your leadership has evolved?
Harden: I believe the leadership role has always been there. I think it's more like, I don't want to use the word mentor, but more like an OG. Whether on or off the court, you can ask me questions, and I'm pretty sure I'll give you an answer because I've experienced a lot. So I think this role is valuable because we have a lot of young players on our team, and I think they're doing well without any hesitation.
I feel like I've opened up to them, letting them talk to me. I don't want to be the kind of person who makes them feel like I'm better than them, that they can't talk to me, or that they can't blame me if I mess up. I want to be on the same level as them because that's the only way teammates will respect you.
So I think that's what our team has right now, and that's why everyone in the team is excited because we're all on the same page.
